Manifesto
In/habitants is more than a project, it's a tribute to pioneers like Satoshi Nakamoto, Vitalik Buterin, Gavin Wood, Hal Finney, Ethan Buchman, and hundreds of others who dared to reimagine the social, political, and economic structures of our world.
But our vision goes beyond mere acknowledgment. We are a blueprint for those with grand designs yet lack the tools, a canvas for the ideas yet unheard, and a foundation for those tasked with the care of others in a world that lacks the necessary infrastructure.
We stand for the outliers, the misfits who didn't quite fit into the mould of their geography or culture. This is a chance for individuals to stake their claim in the expansive multiverse of possibilities, to integrate into a community that echoes their vision. A place for those who seek to grow, nurture, and co-construct within an environment that minimizes judgment based on genetics, lineage, or formative life experiences.
In the world of avatars and digital personifications, biases are reduced and identities are respected. The creator's worth is recognized for their creations, much like Satoshi Nakamoto - unknown, yet their impact is profound and far-reaching.
It's not merely about surviving in this new digital era, it's about seizing the opportunities provided by web3, forging a path that resonates with their own unique narrative.
In/habitants represents a sliver of hope, a spark that could ignite a revolution of change, or perhaps merely be another 'error' erased in the grand narrative of history. The outcome remains uncertain, but what we do have is an unwavering hope for a future where diverse creators shape the world.
This space is your haven for learning, exchanging ideas, nurturing, and fostering mutual respect. It's a sanctuary that facilitates your journey as an in/habitant.
Welcome to the zone of the in/habitants. We're a global entity, connected across different generations of the web, exchanging ideas, co-existing, and living in a hybrid reality that spans both the physical and digital worlds. We are human beings and avatars, multi-world citizens in the growing expanse of the multiverse.
We are in/habitants.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
-
In/habitants is a web3 manga that combines storytelling and community-driven project. It pays tribute to pioneers of the web3 world, providing a space for creators and individuals to collaboratively shape narratives.
-
The term "in/habitants" is a multilayered symbol. "in" stands for insider, indicating a person who exists within the societal structures of today, both in physical and digital realms. The slash "/" represents a passage or portal, signifying the shift from the traditional world (Web2) to the decentralized universe (Web3). "Habitants" refers to the societal dwellers of these expansive ecosystems.
Therefore, an "in/habitant" is an individual who navigates through these interlaced realities, connecting with other like-minded "insiders" who share similar values and philosophies, forming a decentralized, diverse community across the physical and digital spheres.
As a nod to the evolving metaverse concept, we prefer the term "multiverse" - encompassing countless possibilities and realms. And the dwellers of these multiple realities are the in/habitants.
-
in/habitants is a contemporary cyberpunk slice-of-life comic that follows the lives of its diverse cast of characters as they navigate through a world filled with technology, injustices, and personal struggles. The comic provides a fresh perspective on the intersection of society, technology, and the human experience
-
In/habitants primarily appeals to a mature audience akin to the Seinen/Josei demographic in manga culture, encompassing adult readers. The central narrative encompasses intense themes including violence, drugs, sex, and socio-political issues, among other controversial topics. Consequently, other productions within the in/habitants ecosystem align with this age indication, catering to an audience seeking complex, thought-provoking content.
-
We consider in/habitants significant because it employs a new way of educating and entertaining by gradually and organically introducing the concept of Web3. We anticipate the influence of Web3 to grow exponentially. By integrating entertainment and education, we aim to foster a more constructive perspective towards this platform than the prevailing "get rich quick" narratives.
Rather than an investment, in/habitants is envisioned as a movement. Our goal is to facilitate a deep understanding of this new digital paradigm, fostering dialogue with people of various backgrounds and mindsets. Alongside countless creators and multiverse explorers, we are eager to delve into topics of democracy, the notion of play, and transmedia interactions that enhance human connections across diverse media platforms.
We don't claim to have all the answers, but we are enthusiastically committed to finding them collaboratively within our expanding community.
-
In/habitants extends beyond being a “NFT project”. We see it as an immersive experience that sprawls across multiple platforms, utilizing the vast and compelling opportunities offered by Web 3. While NFTs and token gates are indeed integral to our narrative and function, there are numerous other Web 2 and Web 3 technologies that are foundational to the project. We are a blend of the old and the new, harnessing the power of emerging technologies to create an expansive, richly layered universe.
-
No, the project does not possess its own fungible token. However, it does feature Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) as integral components of its ecosystem.
-
A "token gate" is a blockchain-enabled feature that provides users access to specific digital content, services, or experiences based on the tokens or NFTs held in their crypto wallets. This creates an exclusive space where only token or NFT holders can gain access.

In/habitants has a sub-division named in/habitants lab. This division is dedicated to our most experimental creations. These are alpha-state experiments, subjected to testing and reevaluation, with the intention of potentially integrating them into the more stable part of the project in the future. In essence, in/habitants lab represents the most innovative and high-risk elements of our endeavor.
-
We're advocates for the concept of interchain and as such, we've chosen Cosmos as our primary blockchain, specifically its NFT-focused chain, Stargaze.
However, in/habitants is a multichain project with involvement across various blockchains, including Polygon and Optimism.
-
Discord is a important part of the in/habitants ecosystem as it serves as the hub where our community engages in complex interactions with each other. Equipped with bots that utilize various APIs, token gate systems, roles with exclusive content, and more, Discord significantly enhances the immersive experience and community engagement that underpin the core pillars of our project.
However, we recognize that Discord, especially when it comes to leveraging its advanced features, presents a learning curve. But the payoff is an environment that offers greater freedom and access to diverse content in a social setting. We cordially invite you to join us, to exchange ideas with other players and creators.

Our most engaging and community-centric experience with NFTs was with the Rebel Rabbits project. Collecting masks, participating in releases, and interacting with the community gave us a sense of belonging. We found ourselves frequenting that space and sharing ideas with other members. This led us to create character concepts to accompany our masks and doodle little narratives for enjoyment. However, as the community responded positively, the characters evolved, and the narratives became more complex, the inception of constructing stories around our masks and those of our community friends began. As our world expanded, the concept of in/habitants took shape, leading us to where we are today.
Looking back at the origin of this journey, we harbor immense gratitude for the teachings, inspiration, and accomplishments the community has facilitated. Our hope is to reciprocate in a manner equivalent to, if not exceeding, the benefits we've received. We also aspire to serve as a channel for encouragement and learning for other creators in this fascinating world of the web3.
