How to Create a Wallet and Buy Your First NFT on Stargaze?

In this tutorial, we’re going to show you how you can create a Keplr wallet so you can buy any NFT of your choice on Stargaze. So, whether you’re looking to buy, collect or sell NFTs, this tutorial will show you everything you need to do to get started with your first NFT purchase on Stargaze.

1. Creating a Keplr Wallet

The first thing you need to do is to install and set up the Keplr Wallet. This is because Keplr Wallet is one of the easiest wallets to create and do activities like purchasing NFTs on platforms like Stargaze. If you’re using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, you can actually install Keplr as your browser extension. It takes out a lot of stress. Here’s how you do it. 

1. Go to Keplr.app and click “Install Keplr” on the top right corner of the screen. 

2. Once you do that, click on any of the options that suit your situation. For me, I’ll be clicking “Chrome” to install its Google Chrome extension. 

3. You will be taken to the Chrome web store where you simply need to click on “Add to Chrome.” This will download and install Keplr to your browser. 

4. Once it’s done, you will get a notification suggesting that Keplr has been installed to your Web Browser. 

5. Now we will need to set up our account on Keplr. Go to the extension tab of your browser and click on Keplr. 

6. This will take you to Keplr’s login where you can create an account easily. Click on whatever option is suitable for you. You will need to “Create New Account”, enter all the details, and confirm them with your email.

Alternatively, you can also create a new account using private keys or ledger and even sign in without using your email. It’s up to you.

7. The wallet will ask you save the private keys (write it safely and don’t share with anyone) and other basic account details to continue. So add them and next. 

8. Once you’re done, you will be given a notification saying “You’re all set!” Click “Done”. 

9. Now you can simply visit Keplr Dashboard to see your account and every other detail in it. 

2. Depositing Funds in Keplr Wallet

The next step you need to follow is to deposit funds in Keplr Wallet so you can actually Mint the NFTs on Stargaze platform. What we’re going to do is to send a token like ATOM to your Keplr Wallet by getting it on another popular platform. It doesn’t matter which crypto exchange you use, all you need to do is to purchase ATOM from there and deposit it in your Keplr wallet. 

1. So go to the extension of Keplr that you have installed on Google Chrome and click Keplr.  There, you will need to click on the Cosmos Hub’s address which you can deposit your funds to. 

2. Once you have the address, you can go to your crypto wallet where you have Atom and deposit it on this address.

3. You will need to buy the desired amount of Atom coins from your crypto exchange and once that’s done, you will need to send those coins to your Keplr wallet’s address

4. Once you buy or trade enough ATOMs, you can withdraw them to your Keplr account easily using the exchange that you’re using. 

5. Now you should see your ATOM in Keplr’s wallet or dashboard. 

3. Swap ATOM with STARS

The way Stargaze works is that you will need to own STARS to purchase an NFT on the platform. You can simply go to the Osmosis platform to do so. Here's how you do it.

1. Go to Osmosis, select ATOM in one column, and STARS in the other one. Now click on Connect Wallet.

2. Select the number of ATOMs you want to swap to get STARs and you will be good to go. Now the next step will incorporate actually buying 

3. Once you have swapped the tokens, you need to go to the assets tab.

4. Locate Stars and click on “Withdraw”. What this will do is it will send your STARS back to your Keplr wallet so you can purchase your first NFT on Stargaze.

4. Connect Wallet To Stargaze

In this section, you will simply connect your Keplr wallet with Stargaze in order to mint and purchase your first NFT on the network. The process is quite simple and you can do it in under 5 minutes. So, follow our guide.

1. Go to Stargaze.zone and on the top right corner, you will find the “Connect Wallet” button. Click on it. 

2. Click on Connect Wallet and you will see that your account instantly gets collected to the platform. Since you have STARS that you can use to purchase NFT, all you need to do is to make sure that you have enough funds to buy an NFT.

3. Once that’s done go to Stargaze Marketplace, locate an NFT of your choice and click on it. 

4. Select any NFT that you want to buy and select Buy Now. You will need to go through the verification process but that’s about it! You can purchase your first NFT on Stargaze.

5. Now you can go to your Stargaze account to see the first ever owned NFT that you have.
